Information
WHITE
RICE: The World's Staple Grain
White
rice belongs to the Indica (long grain) category. It is also known
as polished rice or fully milled rice because
most
of the outer layers--the husk and the bran layer--are removed from
the kernel, through the milling process.
In
Thailand, white rice is cultivated throughout the country. However,
the central region possesses the highest
concentration
of white rice cultivation because of a more advanced irrigation
system. This advantage enables rice
growers
in the central region to circulate approximately 2-3 rice cycles per year.

 |
CHARACTERISTICS:
White
rice is often referred to as polished or fully milled rice because

and the increasing application of advanced technologies, this region
can yield two or even three crops annually in some areas, giving a
regular year-round output.
Grades
of White rice are divided into 100% Grade A, B and C. Brokens
5%,10%,15%,25%,35%,45%, and 100% Brokens rice. |
